Our Mission CSPC endeavors to be a community that welcomes the outsider, gives sacrificially towards the needs of another, and lives a life dependant on Gods power and forgiveness. We love our Mid City neighbors and New Orleans, and seek by Gods power to make it a better place to live. We worship God with enthusiasm, creativity, authenticity.... and most of all humility. We come to a Holy God as wounded, wreckless children seeking stability, hope, healing and purpose. We’re eternally thankful for the grace, mercy, and unconditional love we daily experience through Jesus Christ! Our Leadership CSPC is led by a team of eight men and women known as “The Session”, which would also be a good name for a studio band. These elders guide our ministry with humility and prayerful discernment, overseeing things like our weekly worship/communion, spiritual development of our faith community through “home groups”, and guiding our ministry to Mid-City and beyond through neighborhood outreaches like our monthly BBQ or overseeing our “Rebuilding Ministry”. Our Pastor Rev. Mike Hogg, his wife Christina and their 5 children live near Bayou St. John and have lived in New Orleans for twelve years. Pastor Mike grew up in Philadelphia, is a graduate of Fuller Seminary, and has a heart for people to experience the reality of knowing the Risen Lord. Our Community Canal St. Presbyterian reflects the diversity of the New Orleans! We are former Catholics and backslidden Baptists, Democrats and Republicans, starving musicians and retired professors, suburban dwellers and urban re-settlers, beach volleyballers and skateboarders. We are mostly white, but joyfully increasingly Black and Hispanic, native "Yats" and transplanted Yankees, Saints and Hornets fans! We do have a few things in common! We beleive that Jesus is THE WAY to know ourselves and God, we know Him as THE TRUTH that helps us understand our mixed up lives and world, and we can testify that He is THE LIFE that causes us to get out of bed. Whoever YOU are, you are welcome and will be loved here!
