Our Mission

CSC endeavors to be a community that welcomes anyone who is seeking to satisfy their spiritual thirst or hunger in a safe, encouraging, non-judgmental community of friends.  We are not your typical institutional church, but instead seek to allow God to rend our hearts of pride, prejudice, and self-centeredness so that we might truly experience that absolute freedom that Jesus Christ promised to all who would follow and listen to Him.  We have a particular love for Mid-City and our neighbors, yet stand proudly with brothers and sisters across the city who make up the "Church of New Orleans".  We believe that it is through His church that Christ seeks to bring inner peace and lasting hope to any individual that desires to be reunited with the One who formed them. 

 

Our Community

Our hope is that you will sense the real presence of the Living God and hear Good News that will give you sound hope and inner peace.  We celebrate some traditions, but are mostly known for our informal and relaxed atmosphere.   Our church welcomes people of all ages, races, cultures, and political affiliations.  We celebrate diversity and seek to conform to one thing alone:  lives that reflect the teachings of God's Word, the example Jesus Christ, and the truth that His Spirit can live within us!  So, if you're looking for a 'spiritual home', a community of people who are authentic in their relationships with one another and God, a church that will assist you in discovering truths of God that are relevant for daily life..., then you may be home!
